Park here: C298+FC Castel San Gimignano, Province of Siena, Italy . This is an unmarked trail along the Fiume Diavolo (mostly dry) river bed. The trail starts near the Casa Ollie entrance (parking available for 4-6 cars) and is a bit overgrown. Wear good hiking shoes, trekking poles are very helpful. Most of the way, there is a path beside the River but some portions require transit on the riverbed. You know you are close when the path narrows to 2m and the cool air rushes from the chasm. Sure footed dogs will navigate ok, but small children are not advisable. Path is slick in the narrow gorge but it requires only a small amount of scrambling. Check weather forecast as there is no shelter in the gorge nor a place to climb up in case of flood. Is a spectacular place to visit.

Difficult to find and without any signs, but after several attempts we made it. From San Gimignano take the road to Volterra, after the prison continue and turn right to Pugiano. The road is unpaved in the middle of the woods, after about 2km you park your car before a concrete bridge ... beyond it is a private road to the Pugiano estate at the top of the hill on the right. The adventure begins by descending to the left of the bridge along the dry river bed. After a bit of walking we enter the first high walls and discover a mysterious landscape along a wet and cool gorge. I recommend an extra shirt and hiking shoes to avoid slipping

Very nice I recommend suitable shoes and clothing. If you go all the way you have to climb some ropes on site. Feasible for those with a minimum of agility.
