It was great the visit by train

Very disappointed! Website said it was open daily from 9:30-12:30, we arrived at 10:30 and the door was locked, 2 people inside. Knocked on the door, man signalled closed, sign on door indicated it should be open. Tried calling, person answered said she didn't speak English and hung up! When the 2 people inside came out we tried to ask, was told come back tomorrow. The only bad experience we had on Elba island

Spectacular off road trip, unmatched scenery, The guide was knowledgeable and helped us find the minerals. We went out happy, black with dust and shiny !! A visit is recommended!

Museum was very interesting and beautiful. Toilets available. The access must be reserved online. Unfortunately, we didn't have that, but could still go with us because a registered family didn't come. Very interesting ride for kids too. There was a stop, hammers were distributed, everyone could knock and take stones with them. We recommend. Program duration approx. 1.5 hours

Interesting certainly, especially for children. Not being the first one I visited I can definitely say that the organization is not at its maximum. We booked the train excursion and we left late. During the train trip there was an audio guide that roughly explained the mine, but nothing about how the mode of extraction, processing, etc. worked. No guide explaining anything. I had to explain to my daughter how it worked .... We arrived at the base of the mine where the driver, who was very nice and helpful, let us down to dig and look for minerals. On the way back we had to continue on a small piece on foot because the train was broken (and it was not the first time to hear staff complaints). In short, all in all it was a nice experience, but too rough. I recommend it anyway for those who have a family and want to spend a different afternoon.
