Excellent value for the money, and an unbeatable location only five minutes from the center of Tokushima. The decor/ambiance is straight out of the 70's, but the Hayashi Bekkan doesn't feel run down so much as lovingly broken-in. (The lobby looks like something out of a Kurosawa movie...) The only criticism I can level at the place is that some of the rooms are quite uniquely configured, which can make them feel smaller than they otherwise might have. Overall, it's an excellent inn for the walking henro, and the *perfect* place for the henro that needs somewhere cheap to have a rest day!

I used it twice on the pilgrimage. The facilities are old, but I was able to use a large Japanese-style room by myself. The futon was neatly laid and there was an electric blanket, so it was warm. The air conditioner is also equipped with a relatively new individual air conditioner. The good old atmosphere is good. The price is also reasonable. I don't think there was a washer / dryer.

I like the retro feeling. It is convenient because you can walk to the city area. Moreover, I was able to stay for 3900 yen.

An inn that retains the atmosphere of the Showa era. It has a long history, and although the equipment is old, it is carefully cleaned. The large communal bath is also comfortable. The temperature control of Karan is not good, so be careful when you put out hot water. The toilet in the room is Western style. There is no cleaning function. There were toothbrushes, razors, etc., but there is no stone sardine. Solid stone sardines are fine, so if you leave them, it is safe to wash your hands especially in winter. If you need it, prepare a stone sardine. I don't think it's bad to have a relaxing inn near the downtown area.

The buildings and facilities are still old but generally kept clean. I like it very much in the Showa era, because it is Showa and it's quite cheap. If you choose a room without a room bath, it was very cheap. There is no problem because there is a public bath. The public bath is also old but very beautiful. However, the time when you can take a bath is short at 17: 30-23: 00, so you need to take this into consideration. It is 6: 30-9: 30 in the morning. According to the display inside the elevator, the time when you can take a bath in a room with a room bath is the same as that of the public bath. The most noteworthy thing was that I was able to rent a bicycle for free. Moreover, because there was a bicycle with electric assistance, I was able to move around Tokushima city easily.
