This is a charming, traditional, small museum with attentive and helpful staff. You can purchase and paint traditional clay dolls in their workshop. Ideal for individuals or smallish groups who like to indulge in a little bit of artwork. A bit of a trek from the station and is on a hillside so those without their own transport may want to consider a taxi.

The admission fee and painting experience are reasonable. The amount of the painting experience is set according to the size of the object to be painted. It is recommended because both adults and children can enjoy it.

Soil doll village, Higashiyama, Nakano city. It brings moistness, kindness and warmth to those who visit casually. A very relaxing space. There is also an exhibition of [Nakano Todo dolls], an exhibition of clay dolls from all over the country, and a collection of clay bells. We are currently holding a special exhibition, "Tenjin-sama who wants perfect score" and a special exhibition "Mr. Mouse and Daikoku". The main attraction here is the Nakano Dou Doll. The "Nara family" "Nakano doll" from the Fushimi dolls of Kyoto from the Edo period. The "Tachigahana Doll" of the "Nishihara Family" that draws on the flow of dolls that began in the Meiji era by the hands of Mikawa tile makers. It's tempting to see two different dolls standing side by side. The Nara family's dolls are lucky items and customs. The zodiac doll sheep has been featured on the 2015 New Year's postcards. Sanada Yukimura, Ushiwakamaru and Benkei, Big Kintaro, General, Hachimi Mirai Daruma, Sea Bream Riding Daikokuten, Puffer Riding Daikokuten, Mouse Daikoku, Hotei, Bean Tenjin, Hooded Head, Maruki, Lullaby Cat, Sea Bream , Hakoita Musume, Kasamochi Musume, Bale Boko, Omeme, Manjuu Eater, Ogiman, Dancer, and so much more. The "Nishihara Family" dolls include Kabuki dolls and historical figures. Battle of Kawanakajima Shingen Takeda / Kennobu Uesugi Samata Nana Tachi, Masaoka, Yaegaki Hime, Sogagoro / Maizuru, Tenjin-sama, Ono Michikaze, Gojo Ohashi Yoshitsune Benkei, Kato Kiyomasa, Oishi Yoshio, Otaka Gengo, Kariya Doshin, Uchiura Hina , Fukusuke, Invited power, too. At the [Nakano City Tourist Center] near the Nakano Interchange, clay dolls from the Nara and Nishihara families are also on display. Among them, the Guanu doll, which is famous for the Three Kingdoms, is attractive.
