ONSEN review: excellent local onsen. Entrance ¥500, shampoos provided, you need to bring your own towel. Operating hours 8:30 - 22:00, there is parking. Kyushu onsen stamp and free lockers at the reception, lockers in the changing area are ¥10. Many places to wash up with a stool, shower head and mirror. Multiple facilities which include two indoor tubs (a big size rectangular shape and a medium sized circular jakuzzi style), a big outdoor tub made of stones, a smaller outdoor barrel style small size circular tub with a roof under and cold onsen water and finally, a sauna. If you enter the sauna make sure you get the plastic mat to sit on. The water is transparent with a salty taste. All the facilities were very well maintained and the place seems busy with locals. There is also food and a resting area. Definitely a place to visit if you are hiking in the area! The water springs from 1600 meters underground and is called "fossil salt water". Sodium-chloride / bicarbonate spring, gensen junkan & kakenagashi.

The onsen water here comes from 200 meters below the surface and is Rich in minerals!!

The main outside bath has really nice water which leaves your skin feeling soft. There are a number of other baths inside and out as well as a sauna. Shampoo, body wash etc is provided. Pre-elementary kids are free.

This place was phenomenal. I stayed for 3 nights and it was an unforgettable experience of my japan travel. The rooms are very nice, traditional japanese style. The onsen os also amazing. Very clean. Also the outside area is amazing too. The breakfast that was served here was amazing. VERY DELICIOUS and amazing presentation. Everything about this location is awesome. Will definitely visit again.
