One of the most, really probably the most, welcoming place I've ever stayed. Every staff member was super friendly, received an in-person walk through of our tatami room, full run down of the local buses, and they really try to help point you in the right direction around town to suit your interests as much as possible (we already had our plans pretty well set, but I still appreciate the effort). Plentiful English here if that's a concern. Japanese breakfast was excellent and served with a conversational personal touch that was also appreciated even as somebody who usually likes to be left alone. Certainly our tatami room was a great experience and clean as a whistle. It may not have the massive breakfast and amenities of one of the extremely pricy Ryokans, but an excellent spot for an experience beyond your every day hotel.

Charming little ryokan close to Kyoto station (about 15 min walk). We had a ground floor room with a view into a small garden area. It's a little dimly lit with a small cramped bathroom. The staff is friendly. Note, we didn't dine there. Overall, it's charming and very affordable.

Very friendly staff and super clean room. We stayed in the traditional room, and it was lovely. The location is very good, about 10 mins to Kyoto station, the walls are super thin so it does feel like you can't speak too much but other than that it's great. I would recommend

Staff very helpful with directions and places to visit. Very clean just what we expected from the pictures online. Would stay again

The staff is amazingly efficient, helpful and kind. The place is beautiful and clean. Wonderful experience. So glad I stayed here before leaving Japan. Added a whole new level of experience to my trip.
