Mercure Okinawa Naha

A perfect stay, the breakfast was nice and tasty although the Western one did seem like a mashup of everything Japanese people can imagine Westerners eating for breakfast, but people from the UK don't eat the same stuff as Americans or French people for breakfast. I would have been fine with a glass of fruit juice, a bowl of milk, cereals, a pain au chocolat and a croissant. But I'm just throwing an idea there, it is not a criticism.

This is very good hotel. It is well located and not far from the airport. You can just take the Yuli Rail (Okinawa Urban Monorail) and it will drop you almost right in front of the hotel. The station name is TSUBOGAWA. (If you have difficulty in pronouncing Japanese, then use the number. It is station no. 5). The service is good and staff are friendly and always eager to help. But be patient with them as their level of English maybe a bit poor. The morning breakfast buffet is good. It does not have a lot of choices like in a big five star hotel, but it is enough to keep you going for a few days without feeling bored. Do remember to try the peanut tofu (Jimami Dohu - An Okinawan Dish). It a tofu with peanut flavour. It was the first time I have tasted something like this. I loved it very much. What are the downside, like all Japanese Hotel, the room is not big. Some may say it is small. The second thing is that we were given a welcome drink voucher, but the restaurant and Bar is closed in the evening. So that was a disappointment. But if you need some food or drink, do not worried. There is a family mart next to the hotel and many restaurants are a shortwalking distance away. So for the price we pay I would say this Hotel gave very good value. Nice classy room design

Decent business style hotel. Very close to Naha airport and that was exactly the reason behind my staying here. The light rail could take you to Kokusai Dori in a few stops so it’s also quick easy to go around the Naha city center.

It’s pretty meh, most the interior is dated, the breakfast wasn’t worth the price add on. If you need to work using the internet or really if you intend to use the internet you can forget it. It’s highly unstable and fluctuates widely based on how many guests are using it. Honestly only reason I rate 3 is due to the proximity to the rail line and the employees did their best to be helpful. I wouldn’t come back though.
