Absolutely breath taking! This will forever be a beautiful memory for me. I can't wait to go back and visit again. Learning the history of the 47 Ronin was amazing! Thank you all for a beautiful place!!

Absolutely a must visit place. Nothing fancy about it but feel the history within. Graves of Ronnins tells about royal tradition. I was very lucky to witness the ceremony inside the mainhall. I guess its a regular worshipping ceremony at noon everyday but not sure. It took around half an hour but was amazing. Priests were so humble and polite to involve me in ceremony. Very different experience in deed. There are some souvenir shops outside. Temple is very near from station.

Even though I’m not a big admirer of revenge plots and I fail to see a heroic inclination in avenging someone who couldn’t hold his temper in check, there’s no doubt a great cultural significance of The Ako Incident and the actual place where that famous story unfolded. I strongly advice to read the story before coming, so all this gravestones have more meaning to you than just “47 ronin, yeah, I heard about it”. The place itself is a temple with a rather spacious patio permeated with incense, on your way to the graves you’ll see the legendary well where ronin cleaned Kira’s head. Tombstones are very well kept.

This is such a magical place, l have a friend who has a cafe within the complex, so anytime l visit, l make time to visit the grave, where you can purchase incense and say prayers. It has a beautiful atmosphere, l always feel calm when l visit. Also some lovely old historic buildings. Worth a visit.

This Is a really great measure of how wonderfully the Japanese keep their history alive. This is a beautiful temple in the middle of Tokyo. Very well kept and ordered. Labelled well enough to understand and follow the basic history in English, but you may want to look up the 47 Ronin story. I recommend coming early in the morning, around 8-9 am is best. It is quiet and you can see workers, mother's and school kids stopping in the recharge their spirit before the day. You can get insense to pray for 100 yen or a bundle to place on the graves for the same price. This is still a hidden gem, visit while you can.
