Kegon Falls

Amazing waterfalls.. one of the tallest in Japan (not the tallest). Autumn foliage there is just breathtaking. You can view the waterfalls for free from a viewing platform or go down to view them up more closely for a fee of 600 yen if I'm not mistaken

A majestic view especially in autumn. Just 5 minutes away on foot from its own parking lot (not for free). Viewing platforms are for free. Taking the elevator down to the waterfall’s bottom area isn’t for free but affordable. Lots of shops and restaurants around the area. You should visit on a weekday. Beautiful, especially when not raining. Comfortable viewing platform, accessible. many dragon flies this time (early September).

One of the dozens of waterfalls that make this place even more beautiful, good infrastructure and all very well signposted.

Excellent place. But crowded as expected. Difficult to follow physical distancing. It was huge traffic jam while going and returning. ~30 minutes of drives completed in ~2 hrs. Its better if you can visit weekdays rather than weekend/holidays. Parking lots were also crowded.
