Well, the guided tour in English takes about an hour but is surely worth it. They try really hard to entertain the guests. The ¥1800 fee is kind of outrageous for their collection but as they say themselves, they have to upkeep these splendid authentic armors(some are replicas but some are real) in the middle of Shinjuku. Overall, I think it’s worth a visit if you’re a visitor from abroad. I would give them five stars if the tour was ¥1000 but I suppose their ends don’t meet at that price. Good enough, I recommend the place. I think the Japanese have a word for places like this: ‘敢闘賞’, which roughly translates into 'deserving the well fought award'. Oh, I think they could improve their souvenir shop though. They have some 30K+ armored figurines and cheap looking straps, they need something in between like 3000-5000 yen stuffs that could appeal to foreigners.

Display of various kinds of authentic artifacts once used by Samurai warriors, such as Samurai armor, helmets, and swords. To make the most of your experience, we host a guided tour in English where you can learn more about the intriguing Samurai history at a deeper level. Additionally, we have a special live sword performance every day at 2,3,4 and 5 pm. We also highly recommend you take photos with traditional Japanese costume; Samurai outfits for gentlemen and kimonos for ladies.

This museum is amazing. It has lots to offer on Samurai history, but also on Japanese history. The tour guides can speak English and they will show you armor and arsenal from the past centuries. Also they will teach you Japanese history (from self-isolation until industrialization). You can also wear replicas and pose for photos =)

A bit of a mixed bag. The pieces themselves are fantastic and the museum is very modern and well-structured, but when it comes to actual information on the Samurai and japanese history it almost feels a little surface level. If you're interested in these topics and you don't know anything about them yet it's probably worth checking out, but for anyone else you'll get a lot more out of the fantastic Tokyo national museum in Ueno park. Especially the sword exhibitions are beyond breathtaking.

One of the best place to study about samurai. You will be guided to walk around this place, and they will explain about history of variant armor of samurai and its history from the beginning of era samurai to end the era. You can take a picture with samurai armor or kimono dress (for women of course). They have souvenir shop too, and they sell katana if u want.
