We stayed in the “Moon room” my boyfriend said it was creepy, but there was really nothing creepy to me I assume it is because he is Japanese and the walls are scary to him, but I loved this little hotel. The rooms have so much personality. The kitchen is convenient. The bathrooms are nice and clean. The staff is so kind and they speak some English. AND they allow pets!!!! So rare in Japan. Some of the items in the hotel were for sell and they looked antique and well taken care of. This hotel is so close to everything next to Kamakura station, very good nightly rates. The only complaint I have is the quality of the bed. The pillows were hard and the covers weren’t that comfortable. As for noise and space, it’s japan.... almost any hotel even big hotels are cramped in japan. And train stations are everywhere so that is hard to get away from. This one works around the space issue in a fun funky way and and I love it!
We stayed in the beautiful crane room. Compliments for the friendly staff. We also really enjoyed the lounge with free coffee! :)
We like the location and the fact that there is a free laundry service. Lisa, from Austria, was very friendly and helpful.
Very old and small. The stair case is terrible. Share toilet is not convenient.
I LOVED this guest house! Its a traditional Japanese house made from wood & paper and is full of soul. Staff were friendly, facilities were shared, but this wasn't a problem as all guests were respectful & clean. We stayed in the Crane Room which was beautifully designed with it's own paper screens & to bed was soooooo comfortable. No meals at the hotel, but you can get a breakfast voucher for a restaurant about 5 minutes walk away (few other places open early). As the house is made from such materials, and is conveniently located to the railway, I would suggest earplugs.
