Underwhelming for the price. You're paying for a great location but Kamakura is a ghost town after 6PM so is it worth it? Room was very basic, no WiFi, no towel to dry hands, killed two mosquitos in the first ten minutes. We were checked in by the parking lot attendant and then check out was just putting the key in a basket like a cheap hostel. Very impersonal for the money paid. 2.5 stars could be 4 if the cost was halved

Comfortable and very clean room. We stayed in a Japanese type room and loved it. No WiFi on the new wing where we stayed which was the only complain we had. I wish I could give 4.5 because of that. The breakfast from Siblings is excellent.

The New Kamakura Hotel gives you the experience of 1900s Japan in terms of furniture and ambience as well as the choice of Western or Japanese style rooms. The toilets and bathrooms are shared but lockable so you need only be present with another guest when washing hands at the hand basin. The staff are friendly and helpful but payment is in cash. Breakfast is ¥600. An electric kettle is supplied but the water in the hand basin is pre-mixed hot and cold so I didn't want to drink it. Other than that, it was delightful. It's very near the station and so it's convenient. I would go there again for the experience.

A very nice place to stay. quiet. 3 min walk from train station. 5 mins from food and shopping. great staff. clean. a choice of western and japanese style rooms. book early for Hotel New Kamakura fills up fast. Free WiFI.

I visited Kamakura during the hot summer. It was in front of the station, so I had my luggage checked in during the day and I was able to go out here and there so I was saved. The building is retro and tasteful, and the rooms, toilets and baths are beautiful and nice.
