One of the only places to stay in Magome. A traditional Japanese Inn with dinner and breakfast. The Japanese bath is only big enough for one to two people. There is a vending machine that sells beer, however there's a store next door where you can get sake and snacks. It's very quiet at night. You can listen to the water flowing in the ditch in front of the Inn and hear the swallows at night. Highly recommend.

One of the highlights of our stay in Japan. The inn was a lovely, cosy oasis, the breakfasts and dinners one of the best meals we had, and I felt like a queen thanks to the amazing staff the entire time.

Lovely place. Great hosts. Shared bathrooms Japanese style (and on separate floors to the bedrooms) Fluorescent lighting rather spoils the atmosphere, which could easily be changed. Wonderful spreads of dinner and breakfast food. Our host taught us a traditional song and dance one night.

Great low key mountain experience. Perfect respite after a long travel and before a hike. Communal style meals were great fun, as was the soak in the bath beforehand. Fell asleep to bird song, awoke to roosters calling and ate a magnificent breakfast

When I was touring Japan in 2015 this was the only traditional Japanese inn I stayed at. I had a great time here at it offered a much different experience from the sleeping accommodation to the food. The people running this place really know how to greet their guests and are very polite about the rules of the Inn. The food was above and beyond, you can tell the amount of effort they put into the service they provide for people. I was very different from a usual hotel you'd find in London, Paris or Tokyo and was defiantly a standout during my travels in Japan.
