Hotel Green Plaza Joetsu

house keeping could be improved. staff running around the hotel carrying huge plastic bags is definitely not something wanted to be seen but they do it anyway. room and view and shop and restaurant are good.

The hotel has a homely style and decent food however the interior is a little dated and the rooms feel like they should be updated. Access into and inside the building requires using a lot of stairs therefore is not disabled friendly, even a baby buggy can be difficult to bring into the room. Facilities around the hotel make up for the dated hotel and provide fun activities for all. My three star rating reflects the old conditions and lack of disabled access, if this were improved a higher rating could be given.

Great place for the family. We went in late July and was cooler than Tokyo. The accommodations were sufficient. A little worn but sufficient. They had a fun and safe pool area for the kids and the resort had plenty of activities for children. I'm looking forward to going back in the winter. The resort is located next to a ski park with lifts near the front door.

The facility is not new and it is not barrier free. But this hotel is wonderful. Photogenic appearance as seen from the front and from the back. The decoration of the hall is beautiful and splendid. Halls and corridors are wide and there is a feeling of opening. The meals were rich in variety (I could not eat all kinds), and it was delicious. Off season (other than ski season?) Is vacant and reasonable price.

The rooms and facilities are a bit dated but the location is great for access from Tokyo. It's a large facility so you get the inevitable commercialised feel especially at the restaurant/canteen where all of the food is buffet and very average with no atmosphere. But you can ski in/out straight from the hotel and the rental facilities (all Salomon), schools, lifts are great so if your sole purpose is to be on the snow, I think it's a very reasonable choice!
