Still renovating now so it may cause a little hassle to move around the station. But it is located near to all the other stations (shinjuku, shibuya, ikebukuro etc). There is a smoking area at the east exit. Since there are many schools around, you are not allowed to smoke nearly everywhere.

It's a train station. It's as easy to get around as any in Japan. If you miss your train, don't worry. Japanese trains are extremely punctual and the next one will be by soon enough for you. Staff were nice when I needed them as well.

Heading to Ikekuburo, I accidentally took the Mita line too far and got off at Shin-Itabashi station. A few blocks of confusion and I got to Itbashi station. It was convenient to go to Ikekuburo area.
