My friends and I stayed here for a one-night layover. It's a perfect place for a budget traveler on a short-term stay. I wouldn't stay here more than a couple nights as it's very minimal in the way of amenities and comfort (unless you don't feel you need that and just want a place to crash and aren't picky about bed comfort). But it's a quiet building, nice and helpful staff, and the cafe being open 24/7 is a nice bonus. They have a good, basic breakfast deal and the coffee is good! We also really loved the surrounding neighborhood, lots of cute shops and restaurants and less than 10 minutes walking from 2 train stations.

I love the rooms here. Have not slept so well since I was a child. Mattress on tatami floor is the way to go. Very kind staff and an excellent atmosphere. All I would suggest is a reading lamp in the rooms (although they dug out a torch for me) and maybe a veggie substitute for the soup at breakfast. Sad to leave.

It's the second time I visit Tokyo and the second time I stayed here, 10 minute walk from the JR Nishi-Nippori station, so 20 minutes train to Tokyo station. One of the best locations you can have with very simple rooms (tatami on and no mattress )and shared showers and toilets. It's a very quiet neighbourhood with a cute market street that opens at 10AM.

I was extremely disappointed with our stay here. The bathroom was very dirty. The walls were filthy. We paid for a private room. It was all tatami mat with barely any room for standing. The walls were also marked in our room. It was located in a gloomy neighborhood. Underwhelmed to say the least. We let reception know we were disappointed at the level of cleanliness and there were no accommodations made. I don’t usually right reviews but I wish I would have seen an honest review on this page so we wouldn’t have stayed there.
