Beautiful onsen, and the dinner buffet is a must-try. Undoubtedly one of the most luxurious buffets I've ever had - it's worth every penny.

Very nice hotpring resort. Not the easiest to get to as local trains are scarce. Good selection of buffet for both dinner and breakfast. Room is spacious and sparkling clean. Love the outdoor hot spring and the privacy is great. The river just outside can be a little noisy as water runs very fast. Overall a great experience.

We booked this hotel online in the U.S. We decided on this hotel based on high review and really looked forward to it. It's a birthday present for my Dad. Hotel looked very nice, but the front staff was not professional. They are not ready for having guests from outside of Japan. No English speaking staff there. We were asked to show our passports, Passports from everyone in the party. 2 of us showed our drivers license since we don't carry passports. I asked my parents for some Id's... They were surprised to be treated that way. When I showed my parents ID, he said ' oh.. Not from Japanese guest ' We've been to many onsen resorts.. But never been treated that way. Receptionist was clearly showing different attitudes toward non Japanese guests. We paid everything at booking, prepaid, my Japanese parents confirmed with hotel in advance, too. Other than the receptionist, room was nice and rooftop outside bath under full of stars was very nice.
