It was a station on the San-in Main Line, which opened in 1918, and was also the starting station on the Sanko Line until 2018. There are vending machines but no shops. Gotsu City is famous as "the farthest city from Tokyo".

The station staff was kind. Also, while watching the newspaper articles protruding inside the station yard, I felt that it was a station that was loved by everyone, from local children to adults.
