Yahiko Shrine

First time saw a shrine that have all self-sustainability sources available. Here you can see a variety of chickens, rooster, deers. There is old sumo ring too.

A Shrine with a History of Over 2400 Years, “Yahiko Jinja” ⛩ Yahiko Shrine located in Yahiko Village, Niigata Prefecture was mentioned in the Manyoshu (poetry in Classical Japanese), the oldest anthology poems in Japan🤩 There is a large torii gate with the height of 30m at the entrance, a red bridge only gods can cross called “Tama no Hashi” and “Hi no Tama Ishi” stones that are said to make wishes come true. It is also a place where you can enjoy beautiful nature and forest bathing throughout the year👏 There are places that you can enjoy for a day trip such as Yahiko-yama Ropeway and Panorama Tower that you can enjoy a view of Echigo Plain and Yahiko Park which is famous for its autumn foliage🍂

This is pretty much the only place around that comes to mind when I think of something for tourists. It's one of the better shrines in Niigata. If you walk around the base, you'll see a nice park with a playground, an area to see/feed Japanese deer, and there are several gift/souvenir shops and restaurants.

Made a visit to this shrine during kiku matsuri. Amazingly beautifully decorated With Royal chrysanthemums. Peaceful and spiritual place. Highly recommend visiting.
