Very bad insulation, cold winds from outside could pour in. Highly UN RECOMMENDED

The only good thing about this place is the location. It’s close to the station, buses, supermarket and the launderette. I didn’t expect much, but it’s not even worth the money we paid. We stayed in a standard double room with a shared bathroom/ shower. I assumed the toilet/ shower would be down a hallway but it actually separates yours and your neighbours room and unless you’re the only people staying it’s stupidly loud. You can hear the fridge through the wall, the extractor fans and the traffic is non stop. I don’t understand why a room can’t have its own kettle rather than shared. On our first night the 2 other guests were up all night making hot drinks and using the bloody microwave for who knows what at all hours. The lift smells like wee and the room is tatty. The cleaner does come around so I can’t say it’s dirty. Stay somewhere else! It might seem cheap but for what you get it isn’t. I wouldn’t stay here again. Nikkō is lovely though.

I stayed in the deluxe dorm room and enjoyed it for the most part. There is an odor in the sink area/dining seating area. Smells like strong damp musky wood. Not terrible, but not great either. There's a lot more privacy and space in the deluxe dorm rooms compared to the standard dorm rooms. I like that they have an adapter for any plugs and USB port in your bed as well as heated pads which I didn't use. The deluxe dorms aren't bunks, they're built in beds. Which is nice if you don't like the shaking from someone getting in and out of bed. Pretty clean and spacious with seating area. Located just across the street from the Tobu Nikko Station. Really convenient location. Just note that everything in that area closes quite early. Would recommend staying here for 1 night.

This hostel smelled unpleasant. The guests were loud and rude. When it was time to sleep, some guests would go to the common room and talk in a loud voice. The bathrooms were smelly and dirty. I think it was mostly the guests who made it difficult to have a comfortable stay. There were signs on the walls saying to keep it down but a lot of people just ignored them. 6000 yen for two nights? Not worth it. I’ve stayed at better hostels for cheaper. And in central Tokyo too. The only pro of this place was the location, very close to the station and within walking distance to the main temples/shrines and the famous bridge. Please have whoever is in charge to walk around the rooms at night to remind people to be quiet. After all we’re paying to have a comfortable/relaxing time at night after all the waking/exploring throughout the day.
