Like the rustic feel of the accom. To reach the check in counter have to walk thru a long narrow aisle. Toilet and bath are shared. Kitchen for cooking is available. Room is spacious.
Very friendly host and the place is located in a very nice shopping street. The place was a bit dirty and dark. The western breakfast they provide for 400 yen is not enough for a full grown adult.
I enjoyed staying here a lot! This was my first Japanese hostel, and it was cool seeing how it compared to ones I stayed at in Europe.
Staff are really great, decor is nice (common area and garden especially), there's free tea which was perfect for sitting by the garden.
It's also located right on the main Onomichi shopping arcade. So location is perfect too.
I like the traditional design of the house
It is a very traditional Japanese residence. It takes around 10 mins to walk from JR station to the hostel.
Western and Japanese breakfast available for staying guest. There is no soundproofing facility in the room. People who can't sleep easily should bring own ear plugs.
For female dormitory, there is curtain for each bed but quite poorly-ventilated at night.
There are two toilets in mixed dormitory and downstairs.
Two showers available.
There are quite a lot of options for dining nearby and easy access to the cable car.
