I enjoyed it so much while I stayed here. The hosts are amazingly kind. The house is nice and comfortable. The bath is just luxurious.

Beautiful house to chill in. Rebuilt ten years ago with painstaking details, Ogawa San lets us share the joy of living here. Perched on a small uphill area. Perfect for couple or a quartet. A bit daunting for small children as many details need extra care. Bedroom is in attic, up a few steep stairs, enhanced with a TV section. Spacious kitchen and Japanese style bath. Coi pond garden and large backyard to relax in. The whole set up is serene, peaceful, requiring one to take time and explore.

The access to place is hard because the roads were very small. But after i reached the owners ( old man and woman ) received us and were super friendly and helpful. They can speak english so you dont really need japanese langauge to talk to them. But most people in the area speak only japanese The house was super nice the owner said it is 100 years old. The bath was also very nice ( electronic bath ) it keeps the water hot. Everything you need is in the house. And the owners will make sure you are happy. There is 2 bicycles available in the house. The garden and the view in the house is 10 from 10 really nice! There is a close super market to the house about ( 5 min with a car or 15 min walking ) i dont recommend walking though. You can buy your dinner from there. You need to have high budget ( i paid 50k yen for 1 night ) we were a family of 3 I do not recommend bringing kids below 3 years with you. It will be annoying for you and somehow dangerous for the kid ( stairs + charcoal)

I had an amazing time with my family at Kotorian. The owners, an old man and woman, took special liberties to make sure that we were comfortable and fed. They helped us cook, and made sure that everything was arranged correctly. The house itself was beautiful, traditional, ornate. The ofukuro was piping hot and cozy. I don't recommend Kotorian if you have 0 Japanese language ability -- you will not be able to communicate -- or if you're on a budget (we paid 10000 yen per head). The guest house is a great launching point to experience ancient, beautiful Asukamura.
