門宿 KADOYADO

Stayed for 12 days, awesome experience! I got to stay in the Tatami room, provides an authentic experience with modern facilities only a few minutes walk from Kawasaki station. Highly recommend for tourists!

Stayed at Kado Yado twice now. Its a cozy hotel, affordable and comfortable, which is exactly what I need when visiting Japan. Close distance to multiple train lines, nearby plenty of interesting food and drink options, solid high speed wireless, friendly owners, and private showers. (There is a shared bath and shower room as well.) Make sure to actually take the time to wander Kawasaki, as there is plenty to do within walking distance. To reference other reviews, yes the Keikyu line is nearby, but no you will not hear it. Towels are left daily, and the covers are warm. The rooms do get a little warm during the day, but I usually just cracked open my window and all was good. Laundry facilities area few blocks away for extended stays. The refreshed common area was great for breakfast or typing away at the computer. And if you are lucky to get the traditional room, it offers more space for tourists buying stuff, and is downright kawaii. For me, I am totally fine with the regular room, as I am mostly using it for sleep anyway. Hotel is a good 10 minute walk from the JR Station, so for international tourists using the JR Pass, that will be your main connection to Tokyo. The Keihin-Tohoku Line and the Tokaido (Ueno-Tokyo) Line both stop there, giving you a fast trip anywhere in the city. It's also close to both Shinagawa and Yokohama stations for anyone taking the Narita Express or the Shinkansen around Japan. And if you are flying in through Haneda Airport, it's 15 minutes away. No joke. Perfect location, if you ask me.

Very very friendly host. Small but cozy rooms, very clean facilities. We stayed for over a week and it definitely made for a great stay!

A cheaper inn. It has smaller space for a bed but enough. Clean and convenient but they have no aircons. It is located nearby Keikyu line so trains sound loud but quiet except these. Free WiFi is good high speed. 5 min away from Hacchonawate station, and 10 min away from Kawasaki station by walk.

This is my third stay at Kadoyado. I was worried about the smell when it was dark for the first time. The second time was more than the first time, and the third time was more comfortable than the second time. Cleaning was perfect and beautiful.
