It was really cheap, but with cheap price you can't expect everything. Has a washer, but no dryer; you will need to hang them in the bathroom with the heating system on. Overall pretty good for the price.

I had an excellent stay at Guest House Rinn Nijo Castle! The staff speaks great English and were extremely nice and helpful. This place is very well located with good restaurants, super market and convenience stores near by. Bus stops and train station are also close by just a few minutes walk. I'll definitely come back when I return to Kyoto.

Very spacious apartment style unit with alot of luxuries that aren't easy to find in hotels/hostels in Japan. The only downside is the almost complete lack of outlets for any personal electronics in the living quarters because of all the luxuries like the phone just to call the front desk, the personal smartphone for taking out in the city and others.

A nice little aparthotel in a quiet neighbourhood close to the centre of Kyoto. Our double room had a decent amount of space and a kitchenette with hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine. The bathroom is pretty compact but has the obligatory Japanese bidet-toilet (with heated seat) and a very effective heater/air-con in the shower cubicle fast means you can dry clothes quickly. The neighbourhood is peaceful and residential, lots of charming little houses and the occasional temple, shop or local bar. There are several restaurants and coffee shops in the nearby covered arcade, including a Belgian beer pub. Nijo Castle is a few blocks to the north. Bus stops and train stations are a short walk away and it's a 10-15 minute walk to the main shopping street. The staff speak English and were very helpful. Overall a good budget option if you're staying in Kyoto.

Overpriced with little service, it is not a regular hotel experience. Things I don’t like: Check in time is no earlier than 4 pm, check out time is 10 am. Breakfast is delivered no earlier than 8 am. No replacement of towels. Hard to find location. Minimal English skills of front desk. Not sure why the ratings is high. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.
