Great place, nice staff, amazing rooms. Love it!

An over-priced dinner at the luxury hotel spa Tsubaki コスパに疑問の高級旅館 It is said that Sekiyou, Yui, and Tsubaki are the Top 3 luxury hotel spas in Yugawara. Since we have not visited Tsubaki yet, even though our mission is reporting restaurants and hotels in Yugawara, we decided to visit it. Since we have a spa at our own house in Yugawara, we did not stay there. We only had dinner and took a bath. Normally, two people could stay at a hotel spa with dinner and breakfast for 32,000 yen. However, we were very surprised that Tsubaki cost more than 32,000 yen per person, even without staying the night. The entrance and lobby was very gorgeous, and the room and courtyard was very clean and beautiful. We really enjoyed the spa, which included an outdoor section. You can enjoy one free drink at the lounge next to the spa and enjoy the luxurious atmosphere of the building. We expected the dinner to be in such an extravagant space. However, almost all dishes were surprisingly average. Only the fresh fish plate was good, but all other dishes were like those of a cheap inn. We have to say that this hotel has the worst value for its cost of any other we have visited. We can only recommend it for people who appreciate the atmosphere and spa. It is not a good choice for those who value great food. We were impressed and excited by the dinner at Sekiyou. There are lots of other reasonable hotel spas which serve delicious dinners in Yugawara. 湯河原の高級旅館として名前が挙がるのが「石葉」「結唯」そして「海石榴」。 海石榴だけが未訪であったYugawara Bureau The Komiuri Shimbunだが、ある日意を決して訪れた。 とはいえ、湯河原に居を構える身としては日帰り温泉＆夕食。 価格を尋ねると・・・、えっ。 ひとり3万2,500円。 宿泊無しで、一般的な旅館の倍以上。 が、湯河原町のリポートを使命とする身としては、仕方のない出費。 いざ出陣。 暖簾をくぐると、さすがの高級感。 圧倒的な重厚感の玄関とロビーが迎え入れてくれる。 廊下から見える中庭は圧巻の上、館内も部屋も清潔感抜群。 お風呂もゆったりとくつろげ、小さいながらの露天風呂も良い感じ。 風呂上がりにはラウンジでのワンドリンクサービスまでついている。 さすが湯河原を代表する旅館に相応しい佇まい。 さあ、盛り上がってきたところで、お待ちかねの料理！ えっ、えっ、えっ。 前菜から〆にいたるまで、いたって普通。 刺身が新鮮であったことを除くと、申し訳ないが、団体温泉旅館と変わらぬレベル。 これ以上コメントすることは難しい。 前出の値段から考えるとコストパフォーマンスは極めて悪いと言わざるを得ない。 Yugawara Bureau The Komiuri Shimbunからのアドバイスは、高級旅館としての「総合力」を求める方にはオススメできるが 料理に重きを置いて旅館を選ぶ方には、別の選択肢をお勧めしたい。 石葉の料理は感嘆に値するし、湯河原には宿泊1万円台でも、 高級和食店並みの料理を提供してくれる店が山ほどある。

Location is in a secluded area. About 15min can ride, and it is worth the ride. Sound of river is so calming, rooms have excellent space and aminities. Staffs are mindblowingly professional yet warm. I understand why there are many repeating customers here, and I would like to be one too.

Fabulous traditional Japanese Inn. Our room had a private hot spring bath on the deck, which overlooks a beautiful pond and garden. The service and presentation of our meals were fantastic.
