Very traditional Japanese hotel... Spirit of ancient Japanese history.

Decent natural hot spring experiences both in private courtyard and in public ones, a new and artistically decorated restaurant with many private rooms. However, the same can't be said about food served here or overall standards of guest suites, especially taken into consideration the hefty price tags slapped on each room types. I think I have a pretty good idea of the overall quality of the hotel given: 1) we booked three room types for this trip: 1 grand suite with private courtyard and hot spring for our parents; 1 deluxe suite of the same size and indoor set ups for us two and our baby son, and 1 standard suite for our Nanny and domestic helper. I have to say this is the most unworthy half a million plus yen I have ever spent on accommodation in Japan, though this trip to Japan was a little bit ad hoc and last minute. Kora Kadan or Hoshinoya represent much more value for money!

Great onsen place which had a communal bath for men and women separately, a rooftop panoramic bath with set times for men 11am-9pm then 9pm-11am for women only and a lovely private open air in room bath with a view of the mountain. This place had a great lobby area followed by sky lounge with complimentary orange juice and coffee (drink till your heart is content) it also had a table tennis area and a spa treatment located on the 5th floor (massages, facials etc). The rooms is very spacious and modern feel of japan as they provide all the essentials, yukatas, slippers, plenty of towels, hair dryer, toothbrush & toothpaste. Staff is very friendly and explained everything in detail, depending on staff some had avg english and some below avg. Very very greatful they tried their best to communicate with us in english as much as possible Overall it was a relaxing trip away from the busy cities like Osaka and Tokyo, forgot to mention the food was excellent! (For breakfast and dinner which was servered in your room)
