Gogoan

I've been watching while thinking about the life of Ryokan. It takes a lot of time and money to save this hermitage, and it seems to be very difficult, so I gave it a little bit with the hope that everyone will continue to be here forever. I think that Mr. Ryokan, who has given up most of his desires, may be lost without being saved, but in order to learn from Ryokan's way of life, it is still impossible to lose it. For that reason, I believe that the actions of all of you who are willing to give up their personal belongings and put in your personal property are one of the practices.

After a while after crossing the suspension bridge, turn left. Quietly in the woods, you'll be amazed at the very old thatched-roof building. Ryokan lived here.

Gogoan is a temple built for the Buddhist priest, Mangen, who contributed to the revival of Kokujoji Temple. The name comes from the fact that he was supplied with Gogo's rice every day. Ryokan has trained in various places and spent 20 years there. On the side of the hermitage, there is a gravestone of the Wanyuan god.
