21 21 Design Sight

One of my favorite museums in Tokyo in terms of architecture (by Tadao Ando). The museum has two buildings: one main building and a second smaller one that usually hosts free exhibitions which is nice to check out after an afternoon of lounging on the grass area at Roppongi Midtown.

Really enjoyed seeing the sketching process of designers in the “Secret source of inspiration” exhibition. Inspirations come from old trials, collected notes, everyday creativity. Wish I could have spent more time there. And bought some souvenirs, too.

One of the most modern art museum directerd by the famous fashion designer, Issey Miyake. Very good.

21 21 is a beautiful contemporary art and design center in the middle of Tokyo midtown district. The building is a concrete masterpiece of architecture designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Worth a visit as much for the exhibitions than for the architectural experience.

this is an exhibition space located aorund the open area. Actually we spent quite a bit of time around there. they had lot of activiites going around that area. When we visited the exhibition place there were works from new Zealand tribale area that were displayed. very interesting
