Enjoy our honeymoon at Shimizu six years ago; there are a lots of great memories here.
Host is very kind, they took us from minsuku to hot spring & bus stop with their lovely car; and we really love the dinner & breakfast.
By the way, we become close friend with our roommate from Singapore.
Look forward to visiting Shiragawago & Shimize soon.
I would give this even more stars. This is the best stay on our Japan trip. You'll stay in a very authentic traditional country house with an actual fireplace in the center of the dining room. The staff is very friendly yet very shy and doesn't bother you much. The house is pristine and very clean with modern bathroom and toilets. The view in the morning is mind blowing.
Honestly the best food ever we had a lot of kaiseki meals in Japan and this was the best. They're very nice people and the farm house was incredible
Nice family house, they speak great English in comparison to other traditional accommodations I've used in Japan. Dinner and breakfast are good and filling. The dining area has all guests gathered around the fire, which facilitates conversation. The place is drafty, but plenty of heating is provided. The big downside for me was the very thin separation between rooms; sound travels really well in this house, so I had to sleep with earplugs to avoid hearing my neighbor's breathing.
Very nice barn house, with a really nice host. The dinner and breakfast were cooked with our dietary restrictions in mind. Shower and toilets were super clean too. She also gave us advice on what to do in Shirakawa-go. I would definitely recommend it.
