Completely worth to do overnight in Shirakawago here! nice traditional house with friendly staff and awesome dinner and breakfast, just enjoy the tea wearing a Yukata, and relax in the bath before dinner.
Amazing stay, food and hospitality were warm and welcoming even though we didn't speak much Japanese
A Must stay in Shirawaka-Go
The staff were awesome with helping us with the rules and traditional ways in Japan, the food was great for both dinner and breakfast, as both of us don't like Fish they accommodated us with AWESOME food and we loved every meal. The night walk makes staying worth it alone, the day trip tourists will all have left and its just you walking around this ancient village. The view from the top of the hill is just STUNNING! The coffee from the place right next to the Ryokan is so very good with a great view of the village and a must visit as well as great coffee! One of the highlights of my Japanese trip and I recommend it very much!
Perfect for having a full dive in the village way of life ! Staying overnight will give you the possibility to walk around the village when all the daily tourists have left. Kidoya guesthouse has nice and cheerfull owners that will try to welcome you as well as possible. Diner at 6am breakfast at 7:30pm. 750 away from bus stop. It's less than 10min walk.
