So this isnt a 5 star hotel by any means, but the experience certainly is! A warm and welcoming greeting from the proprietor preceded a delicious home cooked meal spread. Crisp cool mountain air drifts through the screens and paper walls. Frogs and bugs serenade you to sleep, birds and bells wake you in the morning (if the sun doesnt first). A delicious breakfast spread greets you in the morning. It is directly across from the temple, so you can beat the crowds to have photos sans the teeming hordes of tourists. This is a must for travelers in the area who are ok without some of the modern hotel comforts (shared toilet, shared shower).

Friendly land lady, delicious meals. Downside is a group of housemates smoke inside this beautiful wooden house all night long.

Wonderful stay in an original home of the quaint village. Both dinner and breakfast were copious and in Japanese style.

Great place to stay and friendly people. We were with a group and had some great food and slept really good on the traditional beds.

Good stay, breakfast and dinner were delicious, this minshuku has no onsen attach, for onsen bath, you need to go to the onsen hotel near the bus station (白川鄉の湯), onsen discount coupon is available, get it from furusato, this minshuku is managed by a nice lady.
