Great location: 7min walk to Katayama station from where you can take the Meitetsu subway to/from Nagoya Chibu (this is NOT included in the JR pass). Next to the hotel is a burger place, I highly recommend having the Japan burger there. I also enjoyed playing casino/video games near the Katayama station, the casino place I went to had 2 floors and was huge, it reminded me of Vegas. I also enjoyed doing to an local eatery nearby, cheap and tasty! The room I had was medium size, fast wifi, a few Japanese tv channels and smooth checkin procedures.

The staff is friendly. But it's pretty low end, it reminds me of an old Vegas hotel. The key has to be dropped off every time you exit the building and ask for it every time you enter the building.

It’s good for budget travelers. However, there is no keycard but a physical key to lock the door. You have leave the key in the front deck before you go out every time.

Got everything you need but a bit rundown, the AC is quite loud. Limited english by some staff but friendly and accommodating service. About 10min walk from JR station, 5-8 minutes to subway depending on station.
