End of the road in a gorgeous valley with lots of birds. lovely host.
Interior is beautiful, the surrounding nature is beautiful, but hard to get to and staff not very friendly or welcoming. So, an "OK" rating.
Lovely host, phenomenal food
Originally, it is a hot spring that was opened for local residents (Koike / Utami) because it has a mineral spring.
Among them, it became an inn where people from mountain climbing and mountain stream fishing gathered, and the current president who happened to visit there liked the inn now.
A mysterious hot spring inn where old and new meet.
Founded in the Meiji era.
Even if the building changes, the mineral spring has not changed since long ago.

That is Hatogayu Onsen.
The sign on Route 158 said "Open", but it wasn't open when I went to the site over a narrow, inaccessible mountain road in 30 minutes. It's the worst. Since mobile phones are not available locally, it is better to check in advance if it is open before going.
