Flying Sumo Surf Co.

Great place to stay! It’s located perfectly so everything (beach, 7-11, restaurants, bars) is 1 - 10 min walk away. Great price for the rooms. Surfing lessons were awesome! I highly recommend trying this if you never have before. Also, the pizzas they have there are really good. Easy 5 stars, would give more if I could!

Very friendly place. Went there for a surf day from Tokyo. It was very easy to find the place (short walking distance from the bus/train station). And the board and wetsuit were in good shape. The owner, Dale is a pretty chill person and you get to meet some local and international surfers. Good vibes

This place has definitely contributed to 'My Personal Top 10 Experiences in Japan' list. Kelly, the owner of the place, is amazingly easy going and gave us great tips about Onjuku. Plus, she is very flexible with the planing and makes sure you got what you wanna experience there, like she did for our surf course. If I'm back to Japan during summer time, I'm definitely going to this place again.

This was a last minute booking for me , as most places along the coast were booked out. I arrived with no idea what it was going to be like. Hot 70km ride by bicycle found me sitting in their bar and cafe with a burger and beer and upstairs was my room for the night. I'd say this place is more suited to a group of friends or to a small family as the area is crazy about anything to do with the sea and surf. But saying that it would suit a small group of cyclists as a stop on their ride or a place to start and finish from if they were to ride this section of coast. Owner and staff were great.
