I reserved Stella Resort 6 months prior to the trip when rooms were still cheap. DO NOT LET THE PICTURES FOOL YOU. The rooms or facilities looks NOTHING like the actual thing.
First of all, when I arrived at Stella Resort there was a phone number to call because no one was at the reception desk. During that phone call, I was told that my reservation was cancelled (without prior notice) but they still had a room at another Guest House managed by them, a GH called "Lohas Villa".
The Guest House (both of them) where completely disguting and uncleaned, the rooms were full of dust and we even encountered a cockroach. The airconditioner requires an additional fee (100Y per hour) and the futon are as uncomfortable as they come.
Shared bathrooms are also disguting and small. The only positive point was location.
I have never been this much fooled by fake pictures (probably taken when the hotel opened) and had a bad time at a guest house before. Do NOT stay in any of their guest houses.
If you ever wondered how a Bali prison would look like if decorated by Elton John, high on LSD and low on budget, now you too can behold the horror. This place stinks. Literally. It smells like a glue factory with a flatulence problem. To add to the ambience most of the rooms are closets with no windows to whisk away the stench.
Never fear however, for you too will be able to suffer in solidarity with your fellow guests thanks to the paper thin walls, half a dozen shared toilets and roof showers. Yes the only showers are on the roof.
For some added excitement, the uninterested staff are only at the front desk from 9am-9pm, after which anyone is free to roam around the corridors.
Guests hoping to check in outside those times will find their keys secure in folded paper, and judging by the signs posted on the walls, you best hope that you don't find some random malcontent is warming your bed in anticipation of your arrival.
Not that a mere door would stop them, the locks arent much more than a tiny bolt lock from a public restroom.
Lastly if you're lucky to have an air-conditioner by going for the double room, it's 100 yen an hour.
Your life is short. Your holiday is even shorter. Book someplace else - treat yourself.
I want to come back here again. A great, small, and private capsuled room(not a bed), which is not typical type in Japan’s row prices hostel standard! I like the way they decorated their hallways as forest. I can see so many stars;)
And I also love the toilet and shower room has separated from guest rooms~.~ less smell or noise issue.
You know we all go through that same problem when we used hostel, but there are no problems in stella resort!
It’s okay. It was definitely under renovation. The shower is in the roof. There is a security camera system. This was not my favorite hostel in Naha. I had no issues though.
Beware of the accommodation offered! What's offered in the online travel website is totally different than what you'll get when you arrive. There isn't any amenity for the single' room-type. You have to purchase the them (towel, toothbrush) no air-conditioning/heater (only super small air ventilation hole). Would be hot during summer! It was an ok place. Near to the shopping street! Plenty of food available there
