The town hall is disruptive, the scaffolding surrounds the entire complex, but it will certainly become a gem again. In better times (which were no better times because even then the longhorn beetle was already gnawing at the oak beams) and was impressed even then: this beauty must be preserved, for now but also for later!

October 13, 2017: City Hall of Bolsward:
In the Middle Ages, the city was strategically situated for water traffic and trade. It became affiliated with the Hanseatic League. Next to the Market Square is the important canal of Marktstraat and Appelmarkt with the beautiful town hall from 1614. It is a rectangular building with gables and a tall lantern tower; according to Peter Karstkarel, an important architectural expert, this is a marvel of architectural beauty.
