It is wonderful to start a bike ride or walk from this transfer point through the Green Heart of the Netherlands.
If you want to stay a little closer, a walk to the nearby town and river Meije is immediately recognizable by the high water tower, they call it Pietje Pencil there.
Meije a small village but with a church and an unparalleled landscape
you can safely say Holland at its best.
If you want to go further afield, Aarlanderveen with its windmills is highly recommended.
The cheese town of Woerden is also not far and Gouda is also easy to do by bike, if you want to taste cheese closer to home, then the beautiful town of Bodegraven
highly recommended.
The information board at the Transfer Point provides much more information
to make it a nice day in Nieuwkoop and surroundings.
