The owner of the store was a native of the town of Kasli, a merchant of the first guild, Peter Alekseevich Zlokazov. Initially, in 1883, he acquired a courtyard at the corner of the former Ufimskaya and Mikhailovskaya (now Kirov and Karl Marx) streets. In the courtyard there was a stone building for a warehouse, several utility rooms and a semi-stone two-story house. He used the warehouses to store wines and bread. Later, he bought another plot adjacent to his yard, and between 1893 and 1900 he built a store on it. For several decades, this building housed a military department store and a garrison store. Today this building has the status of a cultural heritage site of regional importance.
