Pamyatnik Rotonda

Historical place. Breathtaking

An interesting monument, very peculiar, it makes you think! Each time you pass by, it is as if you are breathing in the air of wartime, as if part of the war itself drives its splinter into you! My soul becomes somehow sad and anxious! And the longer you admire this monument, you become more and more immersed in thinking about how it was there at the time when people had to live, survive and die! Simply put, a good shake-up for the brain, there is always something to think about! And of course it helps not to forget!

I looked at photographs of the summer of 1943 after the retreat of the Germans: the hospital and the rotunda were beaten up in the field. The rotunda of that time and now are almost different objects: the dome has collapsed, together with the masonry of the walls - voids. There are many columns inside, on the first floor. There was a feeling that for museumification, the object was even more destroyed, so that it looks even more ominous.

Monument to the tragedy of the Second World War. A visual representation of that horror and destruction. Grief people and a large number of victims. Worth seeing. It's really closed now. Too dangerous to visit. But everything is perfectly visible.
