The picturesque ruins of the walls and the bell tower are quite picturesque, although the picturesqueness is not ignored by the understanding that this is at the same time a devastation, which has been here for more than one or two decades, and something needs to be done with this regarding conservation and restoration. A couple of garages and a flower shop are built into the walls. On the territory there are several houses of inhabitants and a certain temple, which in the era of the USSR served as a hostel for students of the medical school. Not so long ago, the entrance gate was restored.

The entire territory was not studied, only the ruined bell tower and the brick fortress wall. The wall is very beautiful in its architecture, but everything is destroyed. Whether the rest of the monastery operates, or is it still abandoned, has not yet been clarified.

The monastery, which was first called the New Year, was founded in 1665 and abolished in 1764. The main temple of the monastery, the Crucifix Cathedral, founded in 1718, was built at the expense of Princess N.M. Gagarina. It was supposed that this would be a large four-pillar cathedral, but N.M.’s death Gagarina prevented the implementation of plans. The work was suspended at the ground floor level, and the domed completion appeared, most likely, in the 2nd half of the 18th century. The three-tier gate bell tower in the provincial baroque style was also built in the second half of the 18th century. In its lower tier were the Holy Gates and the gate church. Now the bell tower is not used in any way and is gradually being destroyed. The monastery had a fence with four corner towers, built in the XVIII century, from which little has been preserved. It is more difficult to speak about the safety of individual parts of the fence, because the territory is heavily overgrown and is privately owned. The most interesting architectural part of the fence is the eastern gate overlooking Kaluga Street. Three-part gates completed by a pediment, have a composition of a triumphal arch.
