Location: Tula, st. October, near the bridge over the Upa River, on the square in front of the Nikolo-Zaretskaya Church, which was the burial vault of the Demidov family. Nikita Demidov (1725) was buried on the churchyard at the previously existing wooden church (until the 1830s). His tombstone was later (after the erection of the stone church) was moved to the chapel next to it, and the burial place itself was lost over time (back in the 19th century). Authors: architect - P.M. Zaitsev, sculptor - A.I. Chernopyatov. Installation time: the monument was opened in 1996 as part of the City Day celebration. 1996 for Tula was rich in events and memorable dates, especially related to the "Demidov" theme: the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Demidov metallurgical plant, the 400th anniversary of the Tula state-owned arms production, 340th anniversary of the birth of Nikita Demidov. In this regard, the city administration decided to erect a monument to Nikita Demidov (Antufeev) - the founder of the dynasty of metal producers, the largest entrepreneur of the late 17th - early 18th centuries.
