Exposition WW2 (10/14/2020)
⭐️ The history of the creation of armored train No. 13 is inextricably linked with the heroic defense of Tula in 1941. On October 3, 1941, German tanks under the command of General Guderian took Orel and moved towards Tula. In this regard, the city took measures to strengthen the defense. On October 28, 1941, the armored train, which received the name "Armored Train No. 13", left the shops of the Tula locomotive depot, and entered into a fight with the German fascist invaders. Armored train No. 13, nicknamed "Tulyak" by railroad workers and soldiers, joined armored train No. 16, which was already defending the approaches to Tula. Later, armored train number 16 was sent to defend the Roslavl - Smolensk sector. "Tula worker" remained to cover Tula-1 station from enemy air raids. He also reflected the attacks of bombers at the stations Revyakino, Khomyakovo and Prisady. In mid-October, armored train No. 16 returned to Tula for repairs. In early December, the armored train "Tula Rabochy" was sent to the Southwestern Front. December 1941, the armored train was based at the Belyi kolodez station, located northeast of Kharkov. In April 1942, armored train number 13 was introduced into the 60th separate division of armored trains, which was formed from two units - armored train number 15 and "Tula worker", which received a new number 2 and was renamed on March 11, 1942 as the 2nd bepo 60- go onebp. The division was sent to the Southwestern Front, where it covered the railroad in the Izyum area from air attacks. The "Tula worker" finished his military career in the Tambov region. On June 8, 1942, when, after German air raids, all the guns were disabled, the armor was pierced, and the chassis was damaged. The crew was sent to receive a new materiel for the armored train, and the armored train was sent to the rembase.

It would not seem such a large museum, but such an interesting, informative tour dedicated to the defense of the hero city of Tula and other cities of our country. It’s about the life and fighting everyday life of our defenders, and it’s very nice that they restored both the armored train and the chronology of those war years. This is our memory and tribute to our veterans, and an example of today's youth to the feats of arms of the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. And we were also pleased that they had a tour despite the fact that there were several of us. Many thanks to the museum management and guide Alexei.

Right next to the platform on which we disembarked from the train from Moscow, there is a monument to the Armored Train. Several carriages, some of which are armored with artillery. At the beginning and at the end of the train there are platforms with guns, an anti-aircraft gun and a howitzer. You can even enter some carriages, but we didn’t - we came for work, there was no time for a walk
