Under the site of Bauman Street opposite the hotel "Kazan" there is an underground unfinished building. They tried to erect the first underground street in Tatarstan. The ground part of this object was solemnly presented to the Kazan public on August 30, 2001, on City Day. The dungeon is now conserved. According to the project, there was to be a shopping gallery. The plan for the construction of the gallery included the use of squares of well-preserved basements near the standing buildings.
