The monument was opened in 2015 and has been embodied for nine years. The Kursk people have been raising funds for its casting and installation since 2006, when the city budget connected to the project - things went faster. At the opening of the monument, the sculptor Krivolapov told the audience that creating the image of the first teacher was his old dream. True, the sculpture was originally supposed to be made in retro style. It was assumed that the bronze teacher would hold a compass and a protractor in her hands. But in the process, a new image was born that was not tied to any specialization. “Everyone remembers their first teacher,” says Nikolai Krivolapov. - Do not look for inaccuracies in the monument. This is a collective image. Therefore, the teacher stands on the background of a stylized vertical chalkboard. Natalia Redkina, a student of the art and graphic faculty of KSU, posed for sculpture. It was with her that the sculptor made the face and figure for the monument.
