Spaso-Kazan Simansky convent

A beautiful temple, it was not inside, it was closed.

Stunning monastery tucked away among small houses, almost in the center of the city. Nuns and servants of the monastery were busy preparing for the ceremony or celebration, but were responsive, friendly and welcome guests. They walked over a vast territory, watched architecture. Atmospheric and interesting place.

Beautiful convent on the banks of the Great River. Holy place. Clean. Cozy.

The convent, arranged in 1897 as a women's community at the expense of the Holy Fathers. P. V. Simansky (a relative of the future patriarch Alexy I) under the Spassky church in the estate of the landowners of Simansky. Converted to the monastery in 1907. Closed after the revolution, part of the buildings destroyed. Restoration of buildings started in 2003, the monastery was reopened in 2006.
