Alexander Nevskiy

St. Alexander Yaroslavich Nevsky (Александр Ярославич Невский, 1221 – 1263) served as Prince of Novgorod (1236–40 and 1240–56 and 1258-1259), Grand Prince of Kiev (1236–52) and Grand Prince of Vladimir (1252–63) during some of the most difficult times in Kievan Rus' history. For his military victory he became a legend and is considered one of the greatest rulers in the history of Russia. He defeated the Swedish troops in the Battle of the Neva river (July 15, 1240) and the Order of the German Knights in the so-called Ice Battle of Lake Peipus (April 5, 1242).

Nice to walk along the promenade in fine weather. I love this monument, from which it blows with strength and tranquility. But please do something with the lighting - the darkness is all around. My child and I had to walk in complete darkness along the park alley and a freshly made path (thanks for that, but we have to finish it!), There is no light from the stadium to this monument on the embankment, horror !!!. Now at 19 o’clock it’s dark, you can’t see where to put your foot, and even the tracks are poorly cleaned, slippery. And this route is very popular. Just see how many people of all ages go there.
