I went to see the monument and watched a small video about the story of Laika. It quite enhanced the moment and I kind of felt sorry for her, but I but then again, thanks to her, mankind has been able to be in space. Her sacrifice was the keystone for humans to explore the moon and space. The

This is a pretty simple yet important place i.e. the statue or Leika, the first dog sent to space. It is very closed to local metro station and does not invite lot of crowd. I went there early in the morning and found it very convenient to spend time and have a close look.

Amazing piece of history. Not so easy to find. But worth it for Space and aviation history buffs. A shame it's hidden in a parking lot.
