Here, Vikula Eliseevich Morozov built at the end of the 19th century a dozen houses for the top management of his “Partnership of manufactories Vikula Morozov with his sons in the town of Nikolsky,” competing with a similar Partnership Timofeevich. Most of the inhabitants were British, hence the name, but Russian managers lived here. The houses were well-maintained, with centralized water supply and sewerage, with electricity. Famous Czarnoks lived right there, the dynasty of which stood not only at the base of the regular work of Nikolsky and, say, Serpukhov, weaving enterprises, but also laid the foundation for Russian football. Harry Gorsfield Charnock, the manager of the FFU of the Vikulovsky manufactory, lived in the house near the railroad, and Red Willie, the best striker of the football championships of that time, lived there. Now from this, the late Englishwoman, there was only a bowl of a fountain in a personal plot just belonging to the Charnoks. All houses either burned out at different times or were also demolished. This is also one of the iconic points in the history of Russia. For example, it was here that Mr. Lockhart got acquainted with our country.
