One of the tallest bell towers in Russia, and in the world too. The monastery itself is very well-groomed, and quite large, you can probably get around completely in only an hour.
The road is convenient to the monastery, there is a bus to the metro in Moscow
Attention! Both in the church shop inside and outside (where the dairy products are), they only accept cash! No cards or transfers.
And the dairy products are famous there.
Красивый монастырь. Очень вкусная церковная кухня. Пирожки особенно и т. д.
In ancient times, somewhere at the very beginning of the 17th century, the elder Varlaam (hieroschemamonk) settled in this desert. After some time, two nuns Evdokia and Juliana joined him. These two nuns brought an old icon of St. Nicholas. The icon was placed in a wooden church near the cemetery. A few years later, Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov ascended the throne. But time passes inexorably, the church falls into desolation, and Berlyuk (meaning a wolf or just a beast) settles in the Nikolaev desert. Outwardly, Berlyuk resembled a devil roofing felts, a bear with a wolf, or some other creature. All his life Berliuk wore a sheepskin coat. During the day, Berliuk begged for alms on the Stromyn tract, and in the evening he killed and robbed passing merchants. In the 18th century, thanks to the efforts of the grave driver Vikula Martynov, the stone church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was already built (on September 14, 1715, construction was completed). From that time on, the ensemble of the Nikolo-Berlyukovsky Monastery began to be created. The relationship of the monastery with the rulers of the Russian land developed in different ways in different years. Nowadays, the monastery is getting prettier from year to year. Come to see it, pray, stroll through the monastery garden, study the rulers of the Russian Empire and the Russian princes. And inappropriately visit the refectory to drink monastery tea and taste lush pies.
Amazing monastery! Quiet calm. A wonderful alley with busts of our tsars and even there is a bust of Tsarevich Alexei. True, Catherine did not find it means she was not supposed to be there.
Excellent service. A very beautiful monastery. You can work hard. Friendly brothers and workers. There is a lovely refectory and shop with its own farm products and monastery pastries. Not far from the monastery there is a holy spring. Convenient parking.
