Michael Kapshukov (11/18/2018)
On May 8, at 17:00, a coverlet from the monument to the "Veteran of the Great Patriotic War" flew off in the Tambov Victory Park. The role of the model for the main figure of the new memorial complex was played by Ivan Odarchenko. The name of this front-line soldier is known all over the country - in 1949 it was for him that sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich created an image for the "Liberator-Freedom" monument in Berlin's Treptow Park. "I did not expect that exactly in 60 years I'll have to pose again for the artist," Ivan Stepanovich smiles. The Tambov sculptural group echoes the work of Vuchetich. The hero of the war is also with the girl, but now she is no longer on his hands, but is sitting on her lap. The monument is not so high, but on the bench next to the veteran it is quite possible to fit four more people - those present in this were convinced. And 15 minutes after the opening of the monument, the jets of a new fountain were hit. And not simple, but musical: in the beginning, military marches and songs were heard from its speakers, and then entertainment music flowed. It is assumed that this place will become a favorite for walks of townspeople. By the way, you can walk along the very surface of the fountain - instead of the usual water there is a metal grid, from which in five dozen places five-meter geysers are beating. A bronze grandfather, a veteran and his granddaughter, admire this beauty. - The image of the girl I did with his 6-year-old daughter Polina, - admits the author of the monument, Tambov sculptor Viktor Kulaev.
